Back History of Domo Kun
Domo or Domo Kun started off as a simple mascot for a Japanese TV station. As with so many crazes it has taken off and become a well recognised character. It is rumoured over 90% of Japanese children recognise the character Domo Kun. The character has since featured on western TV in adverts for Target and a number of 2 minute short movies on Nickelodean.
Little is known about Domo and his origins however he is described as "a strange creature that hatched from an egg". Domo does not talk - he just makes high pitched noises. As with many Japanese characters Domo is pretty quirky.
- He eats meat and potato stew
- Dislikes Apples
- Passes gas when upset
- Lives with a wise old rabbit (Mr Usagi) and to bats
Domos appearance is very monster like. He has a large angry mouth with big teeth. Domo spends most of his time watching TV and daydreaming which often leads to disaster.
The other characters in the TV show are an eclectic mix of animal based characters with equally quirky personalities.
Domo Kun's housemate, the wise old rabbit Mr Usaji is a minimalist. He has moved from a cave into the base of the most magnificent tree and cares more about quality than style. He loves green tea and believes laughing is good for his health.
Patience is one of the two bats that live with Domo. With a wild and alcohol fuelled past, Patience is now very gentle and enjoys sunsets. However her son Mario can still wind her up. Mario is obsessed with sport and has dreamed up a new sport combining soccer and baseball. Despite being considerably smaller than Domo, Mario treats him like a younger brother and helps keep him out of trouble.
Tashanna is a seventeen year old female who comes from the countryside. She loves being in the lime light and can be very demanding. Her dream is to be a fashion model or a high flying stylist in a big city.
Domo sees Hee and Haw pixie twins of flower sometimes. However no one else can see them.There is also a little bear who is one of Domo's neighbourhood friends.
